In the age of free digital media on platforms like Instagram, YouTube and now NFTs; plagiarism and theft of your photography are inevitable.

Even in the corporate & political worlds, corners are cut & providers fall victim to theft or unfair usage of deliverable media to their clients.

Here are a few tips that will help with ensuring your photography is safe from theft or plagiarism:

1. Metadata - programs like Lightroom allow you to encode data like camera settings and GPS location but also, Copyright and creator info

2. Contracts - have everything in writing. The complexity of the contract will ultimately come down to the scale of the production.

3. Education - educate your followers and clients about best practice. The ‘Right Click > Save’ mentality is not acceptable.
